20 Weeks!!!!!

Yay! We are at the halfway mark! Which means we only have 20 more weeks until we meet Miss Addison!  We cannot wait!!!  It's so hard to believe we are halfway there.  It seems like just yesterday we found out about our precious new addition.

We went for our 20 week ultrasound last Friday.  Oh my goodness, that was so exciting!!!!  It was the longest ultrasound that we've had yet and it was amazing!  She is so beautiful!!! And moving like crazy!  She would kick and wiggle around constantly (although I can't seem to feel any of it yet ) It's amazing how active she is already.  Everything went great.  She is right at 10 oz and growing right on schedule! She's perfect!!!

We also registered at Babies R Us Friday.  Wow.  Very overwhelming!  Just when we thought we were on a roll, we would turn a corner and there would be a whole isle of things we never thought about.  Aside from that, we managed to make it through the whole store without losing our minds...lol.

     Okay, so updates this week:

  •  My energy and mood have been great.  Just a little emotional from time to time.
  • Let's see, the only craving I have really had lately has been rice krispy treats.  And voila! My Husband just appeared with some :) He so sweet!  I am also seriously missing sushi!
  • No movement yet, that I can tell :( She is definitely moving like crazy though!
  • My check up went really well! Everything looks right on target! No issues or problems which is great!

I am still working on the tissue paper pom poms.  As soon as I get them perfect, I will post pictures!

19 weeks!

Addison Lane Scott
is
19 WEEKS!!!

Hey everyone! Sorry I didn't post earlier this week, I have just been so busy and haven't had a chance to post.

-     So, this week is the 19 week mark! Only one more week, and we'll be halfway there!  We get to go Friday for our "20 week" ultrasound and we can't wait!!! So excited to see Addison wiggling around :)

 -    As you can see, we have picked out a name!  We both loved the name Addison and it seemed absolutely perfect for our little angel!

-     I still haven't felt any wiggles and movement yet.  Hopefully by next week I will be feeling her move.  I've been trying all kinds of techniques to see if I could feel her, but nothing yet.

-     I can honestly say that I haven't been having many cravings...I do however always want to eat, but nothing in particular.  There are foods that I DON'T want.  Moe's burritos are not on my list of favorites right now.  Which is odd because I usually love them.

-     Sleep is getting better.  I don't toss and turn as much.  I don't get tired as easily during the day either which is a plus.

-     My belly button is of course still in, but it is pretty shallow! I've never been able to see the back of my belly button before, so it's so funny seeing it! lol!

-     I haven't had much swelling, only in my fingers from time to time.  I'm trying to be smart with my salt intake.  I LOVE salt and I am really trying to watch it!  But every now and again, I give in.

-     As far as my mood goes... I feel like I am usually in a good mood.  I don't feel like I've been mean or crabby.  (you can ask Ryan).  I will say that I was very emotional Sunday.  I would cry about anything.  Ryan probably though I had lost my mind.

I went camping in Hilton Head with my parents this weekend.  The first thing we did was visit the outlets!  My mama and I definitely took advantage of the baby outlet stores.  We racked up on a few outfits.  I did try to shop more for 6-9 months this time.  I have been buying newborn and 3 months.  But between me and mama, we got her a few spring outfits :)

-     Ryan has been working so hard in the nursery.  He has been painting, putting the crib together, and hanging curtains.  This past weekend while I was out of town, he moved the dresser in and hung the wall letters (with the help of friends and family).  I came home to see that he had done so much!  He has done such a great job for his little girl.  She has him wrapped around her finger already!  I wanted to share some pictures of all his hard work!

Thank you again, Ryan for all of your hard work!  You are such a wonderful husband and I know you are going to be an awesome Daddy!  I love you!!!!

I am going to attempt to make tissue paper poms for the corner where the glider will go.  I will make a post and let ya'll know how it goes!  The tutorials look so easy, but we will see...

18 Weeks!

It feels like the time is flying by!  I can't believe I am in my 5th month already!

I can't wait until we go back for my 20 week ultrasound so we can see Baby Girl! I want to see how much she has grown!  Everytime we go back, it is such a drastic change.  As big as my belly is getting she MUST be growing!

We have picked out a name!...but we aren't telling just yet! But soon, I promise.

The bedding arrived last Thursday and it looks great! Also, the dresser comes in Friday.  I can't wait to post pictures for you all to see!  I should be able to get them up this weekend or early next week.

As far as updates this week:

-     No major cravings...just food in general.

-     I thought I was having a heart attack at work yesterday...turns out it was just indigestion...REALLY bad indigestion! Haha!  Thank goodness for such a smart husband.  Tums was the cure!

-     Sleep has been a little tough this past week, tossing and turning all night.  Last night, I tried putting pillows all around me.  I literally had them surrounding me.  It looked like a fort...but it worked! I slept through the night! Yay!

-     I can't wait to feel her move! I lay down, analyzing every little movement I feel.  Only to realize that it's not her...it's gas. Hehe:)  But seriously, I want to feel her MOVE! Ahhh!

Like I said earlier, I will try to post some pictures of her updated nursery this weekend or early next week! I can't wait for ya'll to see the progress.

Okay, so everyone knows that I have been doing my weekly chalkboard posts on Facebook showing off the baby bump.  I figured I would start blogging with them to let everyone know what has been going on.

Pre- pregnancy, all mothers constantly told me that there is no feeling in the world like motherhood.  I always agreed and knew that the saying was true, but I never knew just what they meant.  I'm sure I won't fully understand until the day she arrives, but I can definitely already tell what a strong connection it must be.  I already feel such love for her and I've never laid eyes on her.  It's amazing how your perspective on life changes.  I absolutely cannot wait to meet her.  I feel so blessed that God has created this being inside of me, and that in itself is all I need in life.

So, as you can tell, the bump is still growing! I'm not sure if it can still qualify as a bump, more of a belly these days.
-I have noticed in the past few days that my appetite has really picked up! I can eat and literally 10 minutes later...I'm hungry again.
-I have been using Palmer's Cocoa Butter Stretch Mark cream constantly! I am determined to try to avoid stretch marks even if it means I smell like a Tootsie Roll!
-I haven't felt any movement yet, but I've read that it could be 20 weeks or so until that begins.  I know she is moving though, because everytime we go to the doctor, she is moving and dancing around constantly. Surely, her dance moves come from her Mommy :)
-As far as nausea and sickness, most of you know that I was very blessed and did not have any at all in my first trimester.  So far, the second trimester has been great.  I have had a few gagging episodes, usually because of some smell that no one else can smell but me.  Brushing my teeth in the mornings has been an awful task since the beginning, some mornings are worse than others.  This morning I was eating oatmeal, which I eat every morning and all of a sudden it was disgusting to me.  After a ridiculous gagging episode, I gave up and threw the oatmeal away.
-I have had very few cravings.  I had the spaghetti-o's stage...it didn't last long, I remembered why I hated them when I was little.  Now it seems to be tomato sandwiches, fruit, and boiled eggs.  When I say boiled eggs, I mean any way I can get them...egg salad, deviled eggs, easter eggs, tuna salad...I have been begging my Mama to either give me the recipe for her potato salad or make me a huge bowl because there are boiled eggs in it.

Well, enough ramblings for today.  We ordered the nursery bedding and it's expected to come in later this week, so hopefully I will have a post with pictures so you all can see :)

Happy Good Friday everyone! I wanted to get started by giving a sneak peak of what has happened so far in Baby Girl Scott's nursery.  We found out that we were having a little princess last Friday, so immediately we picked out the paint color and ordered the crib.  I am so excited to share this journey and all of the cute finds and creations! Stay tuned for all of the changes!
